ASUS unveils the new 12-inch N20A ultraportable

Asustek has revealed details of its new ASUS N20A model, a 12.1-inch ultraportable laptop “built for heavy usage” and aimed at business and personal entertainment users. If you look around the netbook community, there is some debate about whether they are still actually netbooks when they reach this sort of size, and this model continues to raise questions on what exactly should be classified as a netbook.

Weighing around 1.85kg, this machine will include an Intel Core2 Duo Processor (T9400, P8600, P7350, T5850, or T8000), Embedded Intel GMA X4500HD graphics, up to 4GB of DDR2 800 MHz SDRAM, and up to 320GB of hard drive space.

Other features include a 1.3-megapixel web camera, 802.11n wireless and optional Bluetooth, and the Windows Vista operating system. Although the press release has no official word on pricing and availability, ZipZoomFly has the “N20A-A1 T5800 2.0GHz 12.1in 250GB HDD 4GB PC2-6400″ model listed at $999.90.
