CNet has word that Intel has released a netbook processor roadmap that reveals the next version of the Atom processor is on its way. Codenamed “Medfield”, the CPU will differ from most existing products by using 32-nanometer process technologuy, and the chip will integrate the processor, memory controller, multimedia functions, and I/O (Input/Output).
The “Medfield” chips, which are slated for release in 2010 and will follow up on next year’s “Pinefield” chips that were previously announced, will offer dual-core designs like the current Intel Atom lineup.
