SanDisk unveils second generation SSDs for netbooks

SanDisk presented its CES lineup earlier today with the main focus on its USB flash drive range. The company also revealed the second generation of its SSDs for netbooks and other small computers. The updated version adds a SATA interface that can speed up the performance significantly, and the SSD also utilizes SanDisk’s newer 43 nanometer flash memory to allow up to 64GB on a drive.

The new SSDs will be available from February, with options also including 8GB and 32GB storage. No pricing details yet, but SanDisk did say that a 32GB drive would cost as much as a 2.5-inch notebook drive.
