If Asustek is going to merge both laptop and netbook department to create just one department focusing on the advantage of its market sales, then this will spell out both good news and bad news to everyone.

The Good News is that we as buyers can finally buy a "notebook powered netbook" at a price range of around $300 to $400 only.

The Bad News is that there will be another massive lay-off and job lost due to trimming down of the company into one department.

The cycle goes like this:

Trimming down and merging of department into one means mass lay-off and loss of employment.

Loss of employment lower down the capacity of the people to buy things other than their basic needs.

Less capacity to buy means people need "MORE cheaper price" for things other than their basic needs.

A "MORE cheaper price" leads to more cost cutting to company.

More cost cutting to the company means more job will be lost.

...in the end, Nobody wins!!!
