ASUS launches the Eee PC 1002H

ASUS has launched yet another Eee PC netbook called the 1002H. “Wait”, you say, “Didn’t they launch that in December?”. Not quite, that was the 1002HA (note the “A”) while this is the 1002H. If ASUS is trying to confuse the heck out of people it is doing a great job.

You can probably guess the next part — there is next to no difference between the 1002HA and the new 1002H. Along with the new chiclet-style keyboard design, the only significant difference is a change in processor, the 1002H using a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU as opposed to the 1002HA’s 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor.

Other specs are identical with a 10-inch display (1024 x 600 pixels), 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel web camera, and a battery good for 5 hours runtime.

Oh, there is one other slight difference — while the “HA” is available in grey only, the “H” will give you the choice of “his and hers” colors: black and pink.

Pricing and availability are as yet a mystery.
