The 8.9-inch touch screen makes it smaller than most new releases in what is becoming a scene increasingly dominated by 10-inch netbooks, and the foldable screen makes it more unique. Speaking of unique, ASUS has chosen to power the T91 with an Intel Atom Z520, which is an escape from what pretty much every other netbook uses (Atom N270).

Alongside a 32GB SSD, there is the option of GPS or TV tuner along with stuff we’re more familiar with: 1GB DDR2 memory, 10/100 Ethernet, Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g wireless, and Windows XP Home.

Bit-Tech has now given us a cool look at the glossy and sleek T91 and it does look impressive, even if prone to lots of finger prints (particularly, as they point out, the black bezel around the display).

A major complaint in the review seems to be the keyboard, which is described as cramped especially for those with bigger hands. The arrival of the T101, a 10-inch version of the same netbook, should provide a handy alternative for those who prefer bigger keyboards though.

The battery isn’t removeable but due to the choice of processor should run for about 5 hours before it needs charging up again. Despite a fair few complaints, Bit-Tech reckons the T91 could be your thing if you like the idea of touch screen functionality. The T91 is still a couple of months away from retail so a few issues could be cleared up before then.
