From two different companies, neither offers anything remarkable besides what we’ve come to expect from standard netbooks.

From Kohjinsha comes the Kohjinsha ML6 range with smaller 8.9-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display than what is becoming the norm in the netbook world nowadays. It sports a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. Weighing 2.4 pounds, it also comes with WiFi, Windows XP, a battery good for 4 hours on a single charge. The ML6 is available in black or white at a retail price of 39,800 yen (US$410).

Secondly is the bigger Averatec AVN0270NB by Trigem that boasts a 10.2-inch (1024 x 576 pixels) display, the same 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. The battery on this one will last about an hour longer than the Kohjinsha offering but you’ll also pay a little more with a 44,800 yen (US$460) price tag attached to it.
