Fujitsu have announced updates to two of its LifeBook lines, the U series and P series, according to CNET. These sleek and stylish devices appeal to netbook users, but are far pricier with more features, and are used more commonly in the health care and manufacturing fields.

The new LifeBook U820 updates the U810 range and is just 5.6-inches in size, this release adding a GPS receiver and integrated armin Mobile PC software for driving directions. It includes 1gb of RAM, with an option of hard drives up to 120gb or a solid-state drive up to 64gb. Some other cool features include a 1.3-megapixel webcam, fingerprint reader, and Kensington lock slot. Fujitsu plan to offer WWAN as an option next year. The new Lifebook U820 will retail at US$1,049, significantly pricier than the common netbook as mentioned.

Meanwhile, the LifeBook P1630, which upgrades Fujitsu’s P1620, digs an even deeper hole in the wallet, but for a good reason. The screen on this is 8.9-inches and the 2.2 pound tablet features Centrino 2 components, such as an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 Ultra Low Voltage Processor and 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity. Like the U820, it also comes with a 1.3-megapixel webcam and options for Bluetooth connectivity and a solid-state drive. This too will have WWAN offered with it in 2009. This line update will set you back a whopping US$2,179.
