Akihabara News has unboxing collage of the Sony VAIO P. There is no real commentary, except the declaration that the P is “the first truly beautiful netbook ever” (harsh!), but lots of nice photos, so check it out.

Compaq Mini 700 unboxing video

Italian website Netbook News has managed to grab a Compaq Mini 700 already and has posted an unboxing video on YouTube. The Mini 700 is almost identical to the HP Mini 1000, which it was announced on the same day as to little fanfare, except in Europe. The main difference between the two machines is the option of a HSDPA modem in the Compaq offering.

The Mini 700 starts at Â£299 (US$445), about Â£100 (US$150) cheaper than the asking price for a HP Mini 1000 in the UK, so considering they are practically the same thing, the Mini 700 sounds like much better value for money.

Annnd… the Hello Kitty netbook unboxing

Okay, two unboxing posts in a row seems like overkill, but I couldn’t help myself with this one being a lover of all things Japanese and kawaii (that’s the Japanese word for “cute”). Remember the Hello Kitty netbook we posted about last Friday? Well, right out of Japan is another unboxing via Akihabara News, with a stack of photos. Sadly, no video, but the cute, limited edition (only 500 released) C101K3W comes with eleven Hello Kitty wallpapers and looks as cute as you’d expect, although some might wonder why it is white and not pink, with the latter being the color always associated with Hello Kitty.
